Dance Instructors

Qualifications: Instructors should be technically proficient in the subjects that they teach, have good customer service skills, the ability to manage the classroom & work with children and adults of all ages, be able to develop and execute appropriate lesson plans & choreography, and be able to rehearse students to be well-prepared for performances. Applicants must be able to commit to and complete the school year. Substitute teachers also needed.

Front Desk Receptionist

Chesapeake Dance Center is currently seeking a friendly, outgoing, individual for the position of Front Desk Receptionist.  Applicant should love working with kids of all ages, be able to professionally greet parents and students, answer phone calls, handle new inquiries both in person and on the phone, explain our programs and fees, create a warm welcoming, friendly environment, sell our program to potential new families, schedule students, collect fees, use a computer, have solid written and verbal communication skills, ensure waiting area is clean and presentable, assist with special events, annual recital and summer camps, and other administrative duties as needed. 

Applicant should have a basic understanding of dance, skills, ages, class types, etc., have a strong initiative and be willing to complete all tasks.

Applicant should be available afternoons and evenings during the week from 3:30 to approximately 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. and some Saturday mornings.  Summer hours will also include some morning Dance Camp hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Applicants must be able to commit to and complete the school year.
